Places to Visit In Italy

Italy is one of the most popular visited countries in the world. Tourist come to visit Italys beatiful landscape, beaches, ruins and mountains with a heritage of over 3,000 years old. Italy is a realy paradise to the tourists who visit, and every year tourists visit the country and sew many of it's wonderful tourist attractions. There are many tourist attractions including Italy's legendary beaches and its ancient civilization. From the famous coast of Italy and all of the land that it's ancient heroes set foot on, Italy is a wonderful place to visit.

Rome

The capital wasn’t built in a day and you will  need more than a day to see it. With so many sites and places to see, you will never be at a loss or get bored. Whether your exploring the ancient roman forum and walking where Caesar did, visiting the Vatican, or making a wish at the Trevi Fountain, Rome is an obvious top choice to visit for anyone on a trip to Italy.

Florence

Florence is the birthplace of the renaissance and home to the David. Florence is Italy’s second most obvious stop while visiting Italy. For art lovers and food lover, Florence offers an large array of goodies to suit all. Also Florence is right in Tuscany, which is the home of Italy’s premier wine country.

Venice

Venice is known as the city of lovers, as it is a great place for couples and families to visit while in Italy. You can hang out in St. Mark’s Square, stroll through the many tiny alleys, and take a gondola ride through the beautiful canals. Venice may be an expensive city but once you visit you know you will know that it is worth every penny.

Cinque Terra

Five towns located on cliffs overlooking the ocean, Cinque Terra is simply breathtaking. Spend the day walking the 12km trail that connects each town, exploring there tiny streets, and stopping at little cafes. Explore the olive groves in the hills and relax yourself with a shot of Limoncello.

Sicily

While Sicily may be famous for the mafia, it has much more that it is famous for. Sicily has a long history of its foreign domination and the result is an electric culture that mixes it all in. Every little city seems to have its own culture, so come and explore the countryside and all of the well preserved towns.

Turin

Turin is a major city located in northern Italy. Turin is well known as the home of the Shroud of Turin and as the host of the 2006 Winter Olympics. Turin is located right near the alps, with the Po River flowing through the city and villas dotting the surrounding area. So if you are looking for a popular place to ski, or a beautiful city to visit, Turin is the place for you. Turin is trying to attract more tourist so get there before it becomes a crowded tourist site.

Capri

Capri is an Italian island in the Gulf of Naples and it has been a major resort destination since Roman times. Capri is popular with the the whole world.  It is one of the most romantic places to enjoy a getaway in italy, and it is often referred to as the island of dreams. A beatuiful boatride to reach the island allows you to catch some of the most wondrous sites of the Italy coast line. During summers, the island sees a lot of tourists, who mostly stick to the major towns, but once you get out of the towns the island is yours!

Sorrento

The gateway to the Amalfi coast! Sorrento is located on the Bay of Naples, and It is especially busy here in the summer time but the city is big enough and has enough to offer for all of its visitors. This beautiful sea spot has been active for thousands of years and has a very rich history. A visit to Italy would be incomplete without a visit to Sorrento.

Abruzzo

Anruzzo holds some of Italy’s best preserved medieval and Renaissance hill towns. Manyof these lie entirely within regional and national parks, making Abruzzo an excellent place to see some of Italy’s best preserved landscape.

San Gimignano

San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town that is located in Tuscany (home of Italy's wine country). It is very famous for its medieval architecture and especially it's high towers. Of the 72 towers that once existed, only13 remain today but they are a wonderful place to view some of Italy's ancient history. San Gimignano is a popular destination for day trips from Florence, but spend the night here and the city quiets down  taking you back in time.

Pompeii

The city the was buried beneath volcanic ash after Mt. Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. This is a very popular place for tourist attractions because of its ancient history and incredible stories.

Lake Country

Located along the border of Switzerland, the collection of lakes provides for the best environment for an adventure in the great outdoors. It is here in Lkae Country that colorful towns blossom with cozy restaurants and an assortment of fun, culture, and history. The most popular stops for tourists visiting Lake Counrty are usually Lake Maggiore and Lake Como.

Milan

If your looking for a shopping experience out of this world will take pleasure in visiting to Milan. Milan is considered one of the top ten places to visit in Italy when you want to explore the best fashion outlets. One of the first locations to check out should include the streets that border  Montenapoleone.
